It's aroma is distinctively spicy, fruity, floral, warm and balsamic. Has been used in both men's and women's colognes and perfumes. Aromatherapists recommend diffusing it to invigorate the home and workplace; it improves moods while relieving stressful nerves. The plant has long been used as a condiment and medicine in India for digestive issues. The Romans and Arabs both used it to settle gastrointestinal problems. It is a reed-lik herb that grows up to 12 feet high and bears long sheathing stems that bloom yellow flowers with purple tips.
