First named and described in 1770 by Captain Cook, it was originally brewed as a tea and had long been used for medicinal purposes by indigenous tribes. The evergreen tree is native to Australia in we lowland locations and grows about 10-25 feet. It has papery white bark, dark-green need-like leaves and colorful flowers.
